Pricing and business

Most arch viz artists do not have a pricing problem. They have a scope problem. Here is how experienced studios frame quotes, revision limits, and delivery terms so a two-week project stays a two-week project.

Stills pricing, working ranges

Independent artists in Western Europe and North America land between $1,200 and $3,500 per hero still in 2026, depending on interior complexity, entourage, and whether the client supplies a full model. Studios with a producer layer sit at $3,500 to $8,000. Real revisions cap should be two rounds, everything after that billed at day rate.

Animation and real-time

Second-based pricing for animation is a trap because it prices the render, not the work. Price the shot list instead. Real-time walkthroughs are best quoted as a fixed build plus a licensed delivery window, not a per-scene fee.

Contract clauses that actually save time

A model freeze date, a revision definition (not the same as a comment), and a change order threshold denominated in hours rather than dollars. Every studio that has scaled past three artists has some version of these three clauses in the contract.
